The 18-day festival is under way after an opening ceremony in the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall featuring performances from the National Pipe Band of Scotland and Scottish jazz pianist Fergus McCreadie.
The Barrack St Concert Band, City Of Waterford Brass, The De La Salle Scout Pipe Band, and The Thomas Francis Meagher Fife and Drum Band will be joined by guest musicians along with soloists Donna Roche and David Flynn.
